Brother MFC-J825DW printer review
Today small or home businesses are not the only ones that need a multifunctional printer. Many educational programs now need their students to be able to use a computer to write a simple story or a term paper then print the assignment to turn in on the due date. The Brother MFC-J825 DW multifunctional color ink jet printer has many features is a good choice at a family budget-friendly cost.
The cost of the Brother MFC-J825DW is around $150 without tax and comes with a two -year warranty. This multifunctional printer comes with many unique features that sharing with other computers on the network is easy through wireless (802.11b/g/n) or by the Ethernet networking. The MFC-J825DW cab installed easily via Wi-Fi but also available is USB and Ethernet. The speed of printing is very good for text, photos, and copies. The paper tray was alright for each function but limited to only 100 pages or 20 for photos and document feeder.
The Brother MFC-J825DW is good performer when it comes to the speed of prints being copied or to the duplex 2-sided printing that helps in saving money. This also helps not waste paper so it is safer for the environment making it rated as an Energy Starred by the EPA. The duplex printing can be done automatically from the document feeder tray. However, during printing of the other side may be faint due to less ink making the document less visible and harder to read.
On the front of a Brother MFC-J825DW has a front color LCD display that is 3.3 inches wide and most people don’t notice it as a web interface touch screen which can access some Web apps such as FACEBOOK, Google Docs, Picas Web album, Evernote, and Flickr. The LCD display gives help menus, allows editing, and enhances images from a SD card or MMC media card. The control panel on the front is easy to navigate by using a keypad for faxing, scanning, copy, and photo options.
The Brother printers are known for printing speed and quality this one is no exception. An added plus is the ability to print directly on any printable blank DVD’s, CD’s, and Blu-ray discs located in the front of the printer a special slot used as an input area. However, the caddy that’s stored inside the scanner lid is inconvenient. The printer only take regular size discs 120mm in size not the minis that are 80mm.
The photo functions for snaps shots from digital cameras seemed adequate as long as the photos were printed on Brother’s glossy photo stock. The ISO print speed for a black and white 6 x4 photo was 20 seconds and a color photo with high resolution was 23 seconds. Scanning photos of letter size did not work very well the color seemed off and the photo had a grainy look to it. The MFC-J825DW comes with a four ink cartridges and only change the one that needs replaced.
